The Green Gate is not your ordinary B&B. Apart from stunning views over the Atlantic; visitors experience the low ceilings and whitewashed
walls of an authentic Donegal cottage. Paul has converted an old cottage and outbuildings into modern accommodation.

A wonderful place to stay is Paul Chatenoud's B&B - "The Green Gate" - at the end of a boreen on the hills above Ardara,
west Donegal. Paul Chatenoud once ran a bookshop in Paris, so this has been a complete career change for him
creating a place to stay that's the ultimate in laid-back holiday loving. It's the most beautiful place anywhere in Ireland.

It hurts to share with readers my favourite place to stay in Donegal. Frenchman Paul Chatenoud's "The Green Gate",
a short walk from Ardara, is a little spartan for some, but paradise for others. (...)

The Green Gate is one of those places that people who have been
there hate you to mention. It is a small, simple B&B run by a Frenchman
who
packed up his music bookshop for the light of the Atlantic Ocean.
